鈥淲hen the foxes are gone, things鈥檒l get better.鈥
In Foxfinder, crops are failing, food is scarce, and humans believe that foxes are solely responsible for the world鈥檚 destruction. In this dystopia, a struggling farming couple are forever changed by the arrival of the foxfinder, a young man sent by the government to hunt the animal down. Foxfinder, by award winning U.K. playwright Dawn King, is a haunting eco-parable exploring climate change and its impact on the psychology of fear and the human need for certainty.

鈥淗ow does one dog鈥檚 name have TWO racial slurs in it?鈥
Redbone Coonhound is a biting satire that deals with the intricacies of both the subtle and overt polemics of race, exploring systemic power and privilege. It is about the many ways white supremacy and patriarchy are subtly interwoven into our society, and how they can infect even the most banal aspects of our daily lives.
Conceived by interracial couple and writing team Amy Lee Lavoie and Omari Newton, Redbone Coonhound is a series of thematically connected micro plays, travelling from past to present to future, and blending a variety of narrative styles along with pop culture. It is brilliantly daring, at times shocking, always surprising, and most definitely relevant. Themes for Redbone Coonhound include:
White supremacy, patriarchy, race, gender, systemic power, privilege, pop culture, interracial relationships, satire, oppression, language.
We thought one or both of these productions might be of interest to you as you plan for your upcoming academic year. Themes include human psychology, climate change, the polemics of race, systemic power and privilege, among many other topics (see more below).
