Fourth Annual SPACE Writing Competition

Students from all disciplines across the College submitted to the fourth annual SPACE Writing Competition, each offering their own personal interpretation of this year’s theme, . In total 50 pieces were judged by a jury of faculty—Amanda Beattie (Fine Arts), Nadim Boukhira (Physics) and Andrea Strudensky (English). Entries were evaluated according to originality and depth of thought, style, and connection to the theme. The winners received gift certificates from Argo Bookstore, and the winners and honourable mentions have been published and highlighted in the SPACE web magazine and will also be invited to offer a public reading of their work during SPACEweek.

Guest Lecture: Stan Douglas: Revealing Narratives

Leading up to SPACEweek, and in conjunction with the Intersections theme and the SPACE/ScienceFest photography exhibition, Kim Johnson, educator at the PHI Foundation for Contemporary Art, will give a about the Stan Douglas: Revealing Narratives exhibition currently on display at the Phi Foundation.  The talk will take place on Wednesday, April 27 from 4:00 to 5:15 p.m. in Room 4C.1.

SPACEweek 2022—May 2 to May 6, 2022

We invite all to join us for the first ever SPACEweek—a week of student presentations, demonstrations, project displays, interactive activities, readings, a chance to cast your vote for the people’s choice award for the photo contest and more. Most of the activities will take place between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. in the 3C Cafeteria. Stay tuned for further details
