50th work anniversary of Michel Ross
Sunday, Feb. 9 marked the 50th work anniversary of Michel Ross at ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ÊÓƵ, and he is still happy every morning when he comes in!
Michel started working at the Selby campus in 1970, shortly before getting married. Michel and his wife Christianne had four sons, and and are now grandparents to seven grandchildren.
He has worked all over the College in maintenance, cleaning, inventory, bookstore, mail room and shipping. At one point, he also worked for the Social Service Program, where he handled mail and receiving. He reckons he spent 10 years in maintenance and 40 years in shipping and receiving. Currently, Michel works on the Facilities Management team in receiving.
“I started at Selby, and I opened and closed many of the campuses,” he recalled during an interview about his golden work anniversary.
Will Michel be on duty to open another new campus in a few years?
“I don’t know. God has given me good health, and I am happy to be here. I love working at ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ÊÓƵ. I love the people here. I once took a month off and that was enough. When I am off, I miss people and they miss me. Dawson is my family.”
