24th Annual Artists in Bloom to begin April 21
One of the most highly anticipated events to happen each year at Dawson is the Artists in Bloom art auction. Due to the pandemic it has not been held for two years. Well, it is back! This spring students at Dawson will produce art works, which will either be for sale or up for auction.
Artists in Bloom is an annual event held at ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ÊÓƵ through which traditionally the Blue Ring Society, the volunteer organization of Dawson students, raises funds for a charitable cause. Over the past 23 years, the event has raised around $150,000 for a variety of causes. This year all funds raised will benefit the Support for Educational Assessment Services Fund (SEAS) for students requiring services from the Student AccessAbility Centre.
°Õ³ó±ðÌýAccessAbility Centre offers a variety of services to meet the needs of students with documented disabilities and for whom the disability significantly and persistently impacts their learning. Services are available for students registered in day or evening credit courses.
Once a student reaches the age of 18, the assessment needed to get these accommodations is no longer covered by the government and can cost thousands of dollars. The SEAS fund has been set up by the ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ÊÓƵ Foundation to help students over the age of 18 pay for the assessment they need.
