About 1,800 students at Welcome Days

On Aug. 16-17, an estimated 1,800 new students participated in Welcome Days. This year, the dean鈥檚 welcome for the three broad areas of study took place in the Tony Proudfoot Gym.聽 The experience also included orientation sessions with program and profile coordinators, booths about various services at the College, self-guided tours and free ice cream outdoors.
鈥淭hank you to everyone who was involved in the planning and implementation of Welcome Days! Your time and effort was very much appreciated,鈥 said organizer Caroline Blouin, Coordinator of Student Services.

Another successful DCMUN season draws to an end

This year brought an exciting blend of in-person and online opportunities for the students in the 星空传媒视频 Model United Nations (DCMUN). They have continued to offer students an enriching para-academic experience, whether they be online or in-person, and they found a sense of community and belonging in DCMUN.
Their Executive team supported delegates in a fall training program that culminated in a successful winter conference season. Delegations attend national and international conferences, as well as several CEGEP conferences. Their delegates earned awards at every conference this season.
More importantly, they were able to engage in debate, discussion, and collaboration with delegates from a variety of contexts to find solutions to real problems facing the world today.

Welcome Week for new students begins August 12

This year Welcome Week will take place on August 12, 15, 16 and 17.
New students will have the chance to get a tour of the campus as well as the opportunity to meet their Dean.聽 Students will be able to attend presentations on programs/profiles and learn about the services offered at Dawson. Free ice cream will also be served to students.

Dawson community enjoyed being together again at BBQ

It was so nice to have a big Dawson community event for the first time in more than two years! More than 800 students and employees were treated to ice cream and almost the same number enjoyed a BBQ meal outside on campus May 10. Food was served by our cafeteria staff and from food trucks and there was live music.
