Is there life on Mars? That question is propelling the mission of the Perseverance rover, which landed on the Red Planet Feb. 18. It has also driven the research of ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ÊÓƵ Geography teacher and Mars researcher Richard Soare for over two decades.
Specifically, Richard’s research has focused on finding evidence of near-surface ice in the non-polar regions of Mars.

A Wellness Challenge for Students is being launched Feb. 15
Student Services, Sustainability and Communications have developed a peer to peer model that will encourage students to sustain healthy minds and healthy bodies through awareness and prevention.
Students will learn about how to create positive habits and find motivation from one another to combat the mental and physical burden they may be experiencing. Participants will earn entries into a draw for prizes throughout the semester.

Five inspiring Dawson students and alumni will discuss their views and actions on the Climate Crisis at the Environmental Seminar at Dawson (virtually) on Feb. 18 at 10 a.m.
The 2019 climate march was featured in an episode of David Suzuki's The Nature of Things entitled "Rebellion". TheÌýmobilization of the College was spearheaded by the Green Earth Club. Students will discuss their involvement in the march as youth activists and present their current projects.
Presentations will be followed by a Q & A. This panel is being moderated by Brian Mader and introduced by Anna-Liisa Aunio. Please watch the episode Rebellion, which is available free on CBC Gem here:

The new pavilion project of ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ÊÓƵ is not an expansion of the downtown Montreal CEGEP. We reject the use of the word expansion, which is inflammatory in this context. Almost seven years ago, in the spring of 2014, Quebec’s Ministry of Education recognized that ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ÊÓƵ has a significant space deficit.

Information Evening is a virtual event on Feb. 3 from 6 - 8 p.m. for students considering applying to Dawson. It is the last recruitment push before the application deadline of March 1.
The spotlight is on five programs: Community, Recreation and Leadership Training; Computer Science; Industrial Design; Laboratory Technology - Analytical Chemistry; and Medical Ultrasound Technology.
Brand-new videos featuring testimonies from students, teachers and graduates will be rolled out on Dawson's social media channels in the next few days.
