May 18th, 2022

It was so nice to have a big Dawson community event for the first time in more than two years! More than 800 students and employees were treated to ice cream and almost the same number enjoyed a BBQ meal outside on campus May 10. Food was served by our cafeteria staff and from food trucks and there was live music.

Thanks to Campus Life and Leadership, Student Services, the Dawson Student Union, Facilities Management, Information Systems and Technology and Director General Diane Gauvin!

It’s the first-ever SPACE Week at Dawson

May 4th, 2022

It’s the first-ever SPACE (Sciences Participating with Arts and Culture in Education) Week at Dawson!

From robotics demos to a collective drawing activity, the entire Dawson community is invited to experience exhibitions, project displays, interactive activities and more presented by the student enrichment initiative SPACE, which promotes exploration, discussion, and collaboration beyond the classroom and across disciplines.

As part of this week, Dawson Science student Michael Bomba unveiled an electric guitar he built from scratch in tribute to the Fender Broadcaster, or "The Blackguard", which was the prototype for the first mass-produced solid-body electric guitars in the late '40s.

Pictured from left to right: SPACE Coordinator and Physics teacher Joel Trudeau, student Michael, IST team member and musician Kirk Fontaine and Academic Development officer and SPACE assistant Ursula Sommerer.

Discover more of what SPACE week has to offer on Dawson's Events Calendar at

All events take place in 3C.1 unless indicated otherwise.
