We are proud to celebrate our Fall 2021 Awards cohort of 35 exceptional 星空传媒视频 students. Their involvement in student life, commitment to community service and determination to succeed at CEGEP enrich the Dawson community and make us hopeful about the future. Congratulations to our students! Thank you to all the donors, teachers and employees who make the awards possible.

In lieu of an Awards Ceremony, all recipients were invited in late November to have professional photos taken with the Academic Dean and pick up their awards and a small gift.

Giving Tuesday is Nov. 30

Giving Tuesday is a global movement that encourages individuals to support their favourite cause and make an impact in their community. The date of Giving Tuesday this year is Nov. 30, but the benefits of giving last all year.

Dawson has participated in this activity in the past with great success. This year, we are launching a program for giving that not only helps various members of our community and supports community-building projects, but one that also touches our hearts.
On Tuesday, Nov. 23, we will begin a one-week countdown to Giving Tuesday on our social media channels:

Student-initiated Atwater Community Pantry fills a void

The pandemic brought food insecurity to the fore after job losses, isolation and uncertainty about the future. A group of Dawson students who saw the hardship firsthand by volunteering at the soup kitchen Resilience on the corner of Ste-Catherine and Atwater seized on an idea to create another avenue for food distribution that was anonymous, non-judgmental, accessible at all hours and throughout the four seasons.

Help us fill up the Giving Tree for our students in need
September 15th, 2021
Your donations of food are needed to replenish the Giving Tree set up in the Upper Atrium near the Tim Hortons. It will benefit our students who visit the Food Bank in the Financial Aid Office.
Some items that are especially needed include: tampons, pads, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, mouthwash, floss, shampoo, conditioner, soap, body lotion. All non-perishable food and personal hygiene products are welcome. Just check the expiry date before dropping off.
The Giving Tree is your way of celebrating Peace Week until the end of day Sept. 17.
Successful blood drive with H茅ma-Qu茅bec

H茅ma-Qu茅bec was on site for the first time since the pandemic began on Sept. 14-15. The major difference was that all blood donations had to be done by appointment only.
College Nurse Julie Gosselin (Student Services) happily reported that close to 100 members of the Dawson community rolled up their sleeves to save lives and help sick or injured people. It is the 50th anniversary of Dawson's partnership with H茅ma-Qu茅bec.

Golf Tournament cancelled for 2021

The Annual 星空传媒视频 Foundation Golf Tournament has been cancelled due to the ongoing pandemic. However, we look forward to the next tournament, planned for June 2022.
The Golf Tournament brings together the Dawson community and friends of Dawson to raise funds to benefit students. Over the years, the tournament has raised over $500,000 to benefit the College.
While the tournament has been cancelled, there is still a need for donations. We invite those who usually attend to consider making a donation to help support our students. to donate now.
We sincerely hope that we will see you on the greens in 2022! We can look forward to a daylong event, which includes breakfast, a round of golf, a banquet supper and prizes. Past honourary chairpersons include Dawson Blues hockey player and Olympic gold medallist Marie-Philip Poulin and actor Catherine B茅rub茅 (Class of 2004, Theatre).
Seeking artist contributions for Earth Week event

Dawson's Earth Week is fast approaching. We are reaching out to any staff, faculty or student who would like to contribute a piece of art: canvas painting, digital painting prints, photographs, sculptures, etc. to this year's Earth Week fundraiser. The theme for the pieces is anything nature, animals, sustainability, Earth. They will all be put up for sale online between April 19 and April 30. Your name and/or social media accounts will be mentioned, and all the money raised will help fund Dawson's beautiful Peace Garden.
No pieces will be turned away. Thank you in advance for caring for our garden!

In solidarity with women for IWD

On March 8, International Women's Day was marked around the world.
At 星空传媒视频, the day is usually celebrated with special gatherings, sales to raise funds for women's causes and more. Yesterday, the Association of Dawson Professionals (ADP) and the Dawson Support Staff Union (DSSU) made donations. In honour of IWD, the ADP gave a donation to the Native Women's Shelter of Montreal and the DSSU made a donation to Chez Doris.
The Dawson Teachers Union, the ADP and the DSSU invited members to use a special Zoom background to show support for women in the community.
