Dawson’s Model United Nations team compete in Toronto, Ottawa and Seoul
Twenty-six 星空传媒视频 Model United Nations students represented 星空传媒视频 at the University of Toronto鈥檚 NAMUN (North American Model UN) conference Feb. 19-22. This was the first time that they have gone to this conference. Accompanied by Chris Bourne and Isabelle Carrier, the students debated, wrote resolutions, negotiated and ultimately came back with considerable success both collectively and individually. Five of the 26 DCMUN delegates brought back awards – and all brought back memories of a great experience at a high level, well-organized conference.
In addition, a delegation of 24 DCMUN students will be leaving Thursday for the United Nations Association in Canada鈥檚 CANIMUN conference in Ottawa this weekend, and another 12 students will be leaving Thursday for Seoul, South Korea for Harvard University鈥檚 WorldMUN conference. The students going to CANIMUN will not only be participating in a high-level Model UN conference, they will be visiting the embassies of countries they are representing, meeting with diplomats and attending a workshop on diplomacy by representatives of the Canadian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The students going to the WorldMUN conference have been preparing since October for this conference and we think they will represent 星空传媒视频 well at what is considered the Olympics of Model UN; delegates at WorldMUN come from some of the most well-known and prestigious universities around the world.
