Lean on Me: first performance by the Dawson Blues Band
The Dawson Blues Band now counts 11 members from across ǿմýƵ. They are currently working on recording a Dawson version of Bill Withers’ 1972 #1 hit Lean on Me!
Lots of fun in store! More songs to be recorded include: Smile by Nat King Cole, Make Me Smile by Chicago, Over the Rainbow by Judy Garland, What a Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong, Imagine by John Lennon, Let it Be by Paul McCartney, Three Little Birds by Bob Marley, A Little Help from My Friends by the Beatles and Joe Cocker.

The members of the virtual band, assembled to play feel-good music for ǿմýƵ, are: Vince Maggiore (Business Administration), Ivan Freud (Religion), Jeffrey Gandell (English), Kirk Fontaine (Information Systems and Technology),Karina Leonard (Pedagogical Counsellor), Lindsay Vargas (Continuing Education), Patrick Bennett (Academic Skills Centre), Arlene Hyland (Nursing, pictured while singing Lean on Me), Natalie Kepka (Religion), Irene Kakoulakis (Academic Advisor), David Duperron (Server Support).
You can still join the Dawson Blues Band
To get started, please look at the first online practice recital called “Lean On Me” as a base synchronizing background track at. There is a 4-second countdown cue for musicians and another 4-second countdown for vocalists (soprano, tenor, baritone). If you feel you can contribute (everyone is welcome), then submit your contributed mp3, mp4, m4a or mov file to Vince via Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, iDrive, iCloud. Vince will then proceed to create a final production mix of all contributors.
