DawsonAI Advisory Board met Feb. 13
ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ÊÓƵ hosted the second meeting of the DawsonAI Advisory Board, whose members represent key stakeholders from academia, industry, and the larger community, on Feb. 13.
The DawsonAI team presented its ongoing progress from year one of the initiative, highlighting the grassroots curriculum development that emerged from the first cohort of the AI-themed Community of Practice and the multiple public events organized to continue engaging the Dawson community in critical discussion. These efforts are bolstered by an increasing number of faculty from different departments joining the discussion about AI at Dawson.
Attendees were also invited to a breakout session to explore the theme of lowering the barriers to entry into AI through education from two crucial perspectives: industry and research. This exercise served to launch the work of a Pôle montréalais d’enseignement supérieur en intelligence artificielle (PIA) grant collaboration with Concordia University and to bring focus to other collaborations being established with Dawson partners.
There was general excitement around the event generating critical feedback for the work being undertaken and a spirited discussion about the prospects for future collaborations on challenges for education posed by AI within and external to Dawson.
