Info Session: CRISPESH Research Projects – Opportunities for Faculty – Nov. 4 at 2pm

Opportunity for Dawson faculty members: Call for expression of interest in participating
in the CRISPESH research projects developed as part of the Chantier de la réussite

Are you interested in research and want to contribute to inclusive education and the
success of students with disabilities? Do you have research experience, disciplinary
knowledge related to disability, or do you work with students with disabilities?

Come and meet us for an information session on Wednesday, November 4 at 2:00 pm
(TEAMS). Please confirm your presence: crispesh@cvm.qc.ca. The session will be mainly in
French. However, the PowerPoint will be in both French and English and questions can be
answered in English. The presentation will be made available after the information session
for those who cannot attend.

CRISPESH is looking to partner with teachers from ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ÊÓƵ to develop research
projects related to the Chantier de la réussite éducative au collégial, led by the Ministère
de l’Enseignement supérieur. CRISPESH, affiliated with the Cégep du Vieux Montréal and
ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ÊÓƵ, has a mandate to contribute to an inclusive society that allows the
participation of people with disabilities. To this end, CRISPESH supports organizations in
developing and promoting innovative social practices and creating an enabling
environment for all.

One of CRISPESH’s three research themes is inclusive education, the objective of which is
to support the design and implementation of research-based interventions or practices
that promote the educational success of students with disabilities. Research carried out in
this area aims to provide evidence and tools to students, teachers and services that
support students with disabilities. It also intends to inform all other college education
stakeholders including the Ministry and the Fédération des cégeps. The CRISPESH projects
developed as part of the Chantier de la réussite éducative au collégial focus on four
components:

1. Mapping of knowledge on the educational success of students with disabilities
The research in this component mobilizes systematic knowledge synthesis
methods to create an up-to-date picture of the issues, challenges and lessons
learned about the educational success of this population under study.

2. Data mining and use
In this component, the research identifies existing data about students with
disabilities and their success, as well as missing data, while seeking to develop new
approaches to better knowing and understanding the educational success of
students with disabilities.

3. Inclusive education knowledge and practice
Research in this section aims to update or develop new knowledge to support
teaching practices in terms of inclusive pedagogy.

4. Development of collaborative research
It is about responding to the concerns of stakeholders through collaborations, for
example in the context of participatory research, evaluations of existing strategies
that stakeholders wish to reinforce or deploy on a larger scale.
CRISPESH will cover the cost of release for teachers selected. It offers access to training
courses on research, scientific and administrative support, and a dynamic and passionate
team.
