Interventional Radiology

Interventional Radiology (IR) focuses on using medical imaging modalities such as Angiography, Ultrasound, and CT imaging to guide minimally invasive procedures. The goal is to diagnose and treat various conditions without major surgical interventions. When other treatments haven鈥檛 worked or when surgery isn鈥檛 feasible, IR becomes a valuable option. It鈥檚 especially effective in cases where precision and minimal invasiveness are essential.

In addition to caring for the patient, the technologist uses sophisticated radioscopic equipment to obtain dynamic, or real-time images of the area under study. During the procedures, the technologist assists the radiologist or other specialized physicians. Conventional radiographic images may be obtained as well.
