Total contact hours per semester (15-weeks): 60 hours |
Course Description: The Computed Tomography 2 course continues with imaging of the thorax, abdomen, and pelvis. In this course, the student will identify cross-sectional images, anatomy, and pathologies of these anatomical areas. The student will analyze the cross-sectional images for diagnostic quality and adapt imaging parameters to the patient and the pathology. The patient examinations covered include acute care, trauma exams, and the patient care skills that are required for these cases. The student will develop skills to assist the radiologist with interventional procedures performed in CT. Also, the student will develop advanced CT Scan imaging skills such as multiplanar reformatting, virtual and 3D imaging. The radiobiology and protection element will apply advanced radiation reduction software applications and dose reduction guidelines |

Language of instruction: English
Course hours per week:
Classroom: 2 hours |
Laboratory: 2 hours |
Homework: 3 hours |
Total contact hours per semester (15-weeks): 60 hours |
Course Description: Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) 2 will integrate the concepts and skills acquired in MRI 1 with advanced imaging procedures, methodology, quality control, and post-processing techniques as seen in professional practice. MRI safety will be thoroughly examined as well as artifacts and the mechanisms used to eliminate them. Quality assurance tests for an effective QC program will be discussed. MRI procedures of the musculoskeletal, abdominal, and pelvic regions will be studied theoretically and demonstrated by simulation with an emphasis on cross-sectional anatomy, pathology, routine protocols, RF coil, and pulse sequence optimization. Interpretation and analysis of images will also be emphasized. |

Total contact hours per semester (15-weeks): 60 hours |
Course Description: This is the fourth Procedures course of the program, and it is designed to enable students to integrate all aspects of radiographic examinations of the skull, sinuses, facial bones, and abdomen with adult and pediatric patients. Labs are conducted as exercises in simulation and the skills of communication, organization, patient positioning, handling of equipment, and in applying radiation safety are integrated as part of the complete examination. The student also learns to apply the concepts of physics, skeletal anatomy, pathology, and image quality during the production and evaluation of the diagnostic images. |
